The Aja Mountains are a range of granite peaks near the city of Hail, in northern Saudi Arabia. People come to walk in the valleys, look out from the high viewpoints and take photographs of the rocky landscape. The site is open 24 hours a day, and there is no minimum age, so families can plan a visit together. The range is cut through with valleys and ravines, and within them you will find small villages, natural springs and clusters of palm trees. Hikers and explorers are drawn to the quieter valleys, while others head for the higher ground, where some peaks reach 1,350 metres and the views open out across the surrounding land. Ask us when you plan your route, and we can help you make the most of the mountains. The range runs for about 100 kilometres from southwest to northeast and is roughly 25 to 35 kilometres wide, which makes it a major feature of the Hail region. Its springs, palms and villages reflect centuries of people living alongside the mountains. Local tradition adds another layer, with stories linked to the names Aja and Salma that are still part of how the area is remembered.
