Qasr Ibrahim

Qasr Ibrahim is a fortified palace in Al-Hofuf, Al Ahsa, where domes, arches, watchtowers and barracks show how defence and Islamic design came together. It opens six days a week and welcomes visitors of all ages.

Qasr Ibrahim is a fortified palace in Al-Hofuf, in the Al Ahsa region of Saudi Arabia. It is a heritage site where military building and Islamic design sit side by side, and it is one of the best-known landmarks in the area. People come to understand how a working stronghold was also a place of worship and daily life. Inside, you can look at domes and arches, a prayer hall with a mihrab, thick stone walls and tall watchtowers. Soldier barracks, horse stables and inner courtyards give a clear sense of how the garrison lived and how the palace was defended. Allow time to wander the courtyards and halls at an easy pace. Opening hours are Sunday to Thursday 08:00 to 16:00, Friday 13:00 to 17:00 and Saturday 09:00 to 13:00. There is no minimum age, so families can bring children of any age. The palace stands in the Al-Kut district of Al-Hofuf and is also known as Qasr Al-Qubba and Qasr Al-Kut. Its strategic role is plain in the heavy walls and lookout towers. Today it stands as a symbol of Al-Ahsa's cultural and architectural heritage, and walking through it is a direct way to meet the region's past.
