Al Habala Park is a nature destination in the Aseer region of Saudi Arabia, set high in the mountains and linked to the valley below by cable car. Families, walkers and campers come for the cooler air at altitude, the greenery and a relaxed day outdoors. The cable car is the easiest way to take in the terrain, giving a bird's-eye view of the landscape beneath you. Back on the ground, you can wander through green areas, look out for small waterfalls and let children loose in the play areas. Restaurants and cafés are on hand when you need a break, and there is space to camp overnight if you want to stay longer. The park is open from 08:00 to 18:00 and has no minimum age, so visitors of every age are welcome. If you plan to ride the cable car, leave yourself time before closing. The name Habala is also tied to an old stone village in Asir, built on a narrow ledge of a cliff within a steep escarpment. The Al-Kamri mountain tribe traditionally lived there and climbed ladders made of woven rope to reach their homes. Today a cable car does that work, and the village is regarded as a cultural attraction as well as a place of natural interest.
